By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

The consumer price inflation rates are expected to reach 7.6 percent in Turkey in 2014, head of the Turkish Central Bank Erdem Basci was quoted on April 30 by TRT Haber channel as saying.

"The minimum level of inflation will hit 6.6 percent in the country," he said.
"The Central Bank is doing everything possible to keep inflation under control," he added.

Earlier, Basci said that the growth rate of consumer prices in the country are expected at least at the level of 5.2 percent and the maximum inflation at 8 percent in 2014.

The Turkish Central Bank has so far refrained from raising the interest rates to prevent further price reduction of the national currency compared to the U.S. dollar, according to the TV channel.
