Some 70,714 Turkish citizens have over one million Turkish liras on their accounts, Anadolu news agency said Aug. 15 citing Turkey's Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK).
Reportedly, the millionaires list included the names of additional 3,868 people as compared to the previous year.
BDDK said that in 2013, there were 66,846 Turkish citizens owning over one million Turkish liras in their accounts.
The total funds in the accounts of more than 70,714 people exceed 455 730.84 million liras, according to the report.
Turkish Central Bank's official exchange rate for Aug. 15 is 2.1557 TL/USD.
