The date of holding a tender for rendering 4G mobile Internet services in Turkey has been postponed, said the message posted on the website of Turkish Resmi Gazete newspaper.
The tender announced in February 2015 has been postponed to Aug.26, 2015. It was expected that the winner of the tender will be determined May 26.
The reason for postponing the tender's date hasn't been specified.
Mobile communication penetration rate in Turkey is 99 percent. Currently, 1,800 settlements in the country are not provided with mobile and fiber-optic communications due to their location in hard-to-reach areas.
As many as 47 mobile operators have been registered in Turkey, while three of them - Avea, Turkcell and Vodafone - are operating.
Turkcell has 52.4 percent of users, Vodafone - 27.9 percent and Avea - 19.7 percent.
