Foreign investments in Kazakhstan’s manufacturing industry increase

Foreign investments in the manufacturing industry have significantly increased during the years of implementation of the industrialization program in Kazakhstan, said the message from the country's Ministry of Investments and Development Sept.14.

The ministry said that $212 billion worth direct foreign investments were attracted to Kazakhstan's economy from 2005 till the Q1 of 2015.

Almost 70 percent or $125.4 billion of these funds were attracted during the years of implementation of the industrialization program that started in 2010, according to the message.

"During that period, the direct investments in the manufacturing sector of Kazakhstan's economy accounted for 74 percent or $17.6 billion," said the ministry.

Kazakhstan became 28th for the volume of attracted net direct foreign investments ($9.6 billion) in 2014, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The country attracted $3.7 billion worth investments to the manufacturing industry in 2014, or 48 percent more than in 2013 ($2.5 billion).
