Baku Higher Oil School's statistics demonstrates large-scale development, said Rovnag Abdullayev, the SOCAR President and Parliament Member, during the ceremonial event held at BHOS on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.

Abdullayev congratulated the professors, lecturers and students of the higher school on this occasion.

"Today, 120 future oilmen are joining us. It is a real turning point of life for you. Looking at you, I recall the first time I came to the higher school as a student. We were thinking about new aspirations, new steps and our future. These are very joyful moments," he said.

"I would like to congratulate all of you for gathering high entry points. I believe you will continue the traditions of this higher school and become highly qualified oil specialists," Abdullayev added.

"BHOS statistics represents large-scale development. Today, we can say that the goal "We should turn oil capital into human capital" brought forward by President Ilham Aliyev is being put into effect and you, the young people, will become the specialists who will contribute in the future development of the national industry. We are a big believer of this," SOCAR's president said.

"We are continuing the construction of the Baku Higher Oil School campus to put it into exploitation for you by the end of the year. Along with ensuring high quality education, it will enable you to study at a higher school possessing the most advanced logistics in the whole region opening broad opportunities," he added.

"I would like to congratulate all of you again, I congratulate your professors. These outcomes would not be possible without the professors' endeavors and I believe this development will progress," SOCAR's president said.

Maleyka Abbaszade, the Chairperson of the State Students Admission Commission, also took floor at the ceremonial event held at Baku Higher Oil School on the occasion of the start of the new academic year and extended her congratulations to BHOS lecturers and students.

"It has been four years since BHOS started functioning. We are witnessing increase in the number of students who wish to study in the first specialization group programs," she said.

"This year, the largest number of prospective students took exams on the first specialization group. BHOS takes lead by many indicators amongst the national higher schools," Abbaszade added.

Since 1994, SSAC has been conducting scientific and statistical analysis as well as special statistical study on oil related specializations, according to Abbaszade.

"And these analyses revealed that, for example, in 1994, some 400-500 people submitted their documents to be admitted to around 300 places available to study in the programs included in this specialization group," she said.

"Now, out of over 30.000 applicants, we see the greatest number of prospective students gathering more than 600 points in the first specialization group. And there were more than 25 prospective students with 690-700 points in this group. It means that students have goals. You have already achieved you goal and I am proud of you," Abbaszade added.
