Manufacture of cars for BTK kicks off (UPDATE)

Stadler Rail Group started the production of sleeping-cars for the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, said Azerbaijan Railways in a message Sept. 29.
Azerbaijan Railways said that earlier an Azerbaijani delegation, which visited the company in Switzerland, viewed the sleeping-cars.
The cars were viewed by Azerbaijan Railways Chairman Javid Gurbanov, Stadler Rail Group's President Peter Spuhler, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Switzerland Akram Zeynalli, and the delegations of Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
Azerbaijan has ordered 30 sleeping-cars. The cars are produced in four categories: standard, comfort, business and restaurant.
The first batch of 10 cars will be commissioned in Azerbaijan in July-August 2016.
During the visit, Azerbaijan Railways Chairman Javid Gurbanov also visited the largest plant of Stadler Rail Group in the Swiss region of Bussnang.
