As of October 2, 2015, grain from 12.577 million hectares has been harvested in Kazakhstan, which accounts for 85.3 percent of the total harvest area, said the message released by the ministry of agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The message said that some 15.611 million tons of grain were harvested the country in total for the current marketing year.

The average yield accounted for 12.4 quintals per hectare.

For comparison, some 13.914 million tons of grain with the average yield of 11.8 quintals per hectare was harvested in Kazakhstan in the same period last year.

The ministry said that the grain harvest in Kazakhstan is forecasted at 17.3 million tons in gross weight.

Some 17.162 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested in Kazakhstan in 2014, which is 5.9 percent less than in 2013.
