Iran collected 366 trillion rials (about $12.21 billion based on official rate of 29,963 rials per each USD) tax income in the first seven months of the current Iranian fiscal year(March 21-Oct. 22).

Ali Askari, head of the Iran's tax organization, said that the tax income was 83 percent of the figure which had been anticipated by the national budget law, Fars news agency reported on Nov. 15.

Tax revenues are expected to account for 870 trillion rials of the country's total budget in the current fiscal year (started on March 20).

About 25 percent of the Iran's overall economy does not pay taxes and tax evasion is the main problem of the country's taxation system.
