The share of small operating companies in the total number of the registered ones rose from 53.9 percent to 85.2 percent for three years in Kazakhstan, according to a review of the Ranking.kz analytical service.
In the first quarter of 2016, the number of registered small businesses in Kazakhstan amounted to over 1.5 million, with 1.3 million of them being active.
In the first quarter of 2016, some 68.2 percent of the total number of small enterprises fell on individual entrepreneurs. Some 19.6 percent accounted for legal entities, and 12.2 percent – for farm enterprises.
More than one third of all small businesses of Kazakhstan are engaged in trade. Some 0.5 million small businesses were registered in the wholesale and retail trade. Some 0.2 million small businesses, or 19.3 percent of small companies operate in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
