Projects within TRACECA receive over 187M euros

The European Commission so far has allocated over 187 million euros to 85 projects within the TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) project, Secretary General of TRACECA Mircea Ciopraga said.

He made the remarks at the Azerbaijan Infrastructure, Power and Renewable Energy Investment Conference in Baku.

He added that more than 40 percent of these funds were directed to support and development of the TRACECA corridor’s transport infrastructure.

“A great work has been implemented within the program,” Ciopraga said. “Investments in the TRACECA project made it possible to create reliable ports, roads, railways, airports and other infrastructure.”

The secretary general said that it is very important to realize the export potential of each member country of the TRACECA.

TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the sphere of transport among the EU and partner-countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.

TRACECA member-states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Iran.
