Kazakhmys corporation increases copper output

Kazakh Metallurgical Corporation Kazakhmys produced 225,657 tons of copper cathode equivalent, the company said in a message March 2.
Copper cathode equivalent production in the reporting period exceeded production in 2015 by 5,400 tons or 2.5 percent.

The average copper grade in ore reached 0.95 percent in 2016 compared to 0.91 percent in 2015.
Kazakhmys’ concentrators processed 29.8 million tons of ore in 2016.

In 2017 Kazakhmys Corporation plans to produce 232,600 tons of copper cathode equivalent.

Kazakhmys is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and one of biggest copper producers in the world. Copper operations are fully integrated from mining ore through to the production of finished copper cathode and rod. The company operates eleven mines, four concentrators, two copper smelting plants and two coal mines.
