Car plants in Kazakhstan produced 3,095 cars in 1Q2017, Kazakh Statistics Committee said.
It is 7.2 times more than in the same period of 2016.
In March 2017 car production decreased by 29 percent compared to February 2017 and hit 1,057 cars.
Meanwhile, minibus production in 1Q2017 remained at the level as in 1Q2016. As much as 27 minibuses were produced in Kazakhstan in this period.
Truck production in Kazakhstan fell to 169 trucks in 1Q2017, which is 31.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2016.
In 2016, the car output of plants in Kazakhstan was 8,397 as compared to 12,453 in 2015.
Three large car plants – AZIA AVTO, SaryarkaAvtoProm and Agromashholding – operate in Kazakhstan. These plants manufacture Kia, Chevrolet, Skoda, Hyundai, SsangYong, Peugeot and cars of other brands.
