Azerbaijan exported goods worth $6.15 billion in January-July 2017 that is by 6.03 percent less than in the same period of 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $4.93 billion, private sector – $1.08 billion, individuals – $137.57 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, plastic and plastic products, as well as fruits and vegetables in January-July 2017.

During the period, import totaled nearly $4.37 billion, which is by 6.93 percent less than in January-July 2016. Some $491.29 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $3.64 billion – for the private sector, $237.7 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines, electronic equipment, ferrous metals, plastic, timber, sugar, vegetables and fruits during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations decreased by 6.9 percent and amounted to $10.52 billion in January-July 2017, as compared to the same period of 2016. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $1.78 billion, whereas in January-July 2016, a trade deficit of $167.47 million was recorded.
