Russia would welcome Azerbaijan's joining the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC), said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressing a meeting at the ADA University in Baku Nov. 20.
The foreign minister noted that the Eurasian Economic Community is an open integration union and new countries' joining it is always welcomed.
The possibility of Tajikistan’s joining EAEC is currently being considered, he said.
The EAEC is an international economic association functioning from January 1, 2015. Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia are the members of the EAEC.
