UK company BP, together with project partners in Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education, agreed on the extension of implementation of the joint project in the agricultural field.

The project, launched in September 2016, aims to strengthen the base of specialized education in the field of agriculture. The goal of the project is to create new specialties and professions in the field of agriculture and improve the quality of education, thereby giving an impetus to increasing efficiency in this sector.

As a result of the project’s first phase, which was completed in September 2017, the British Council prepared modern teaching materials, textbooks and methodologies for new specialties in the field of agriculture on 12 modules – three modules in the field of horticulture, five modules on harvesting and four modules on agricultural machinery and its maintenance.

As a result, 40 local experts State Agricultural University of Azerbaijan and various vocational schools obtained education on these modules.

The new stage of the project will be completed in June 2018, and the final budget will amount to 461,000 manats (358,000 manats from the initial budget and 103,000 manats of additional financing).

The total number of modules prepared within the project will be 19.

Addressing the event, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, communications, external affairs, strategy & region vice president at BP Azerbaijan, noted that investments in human capital is an important part of investments of BP and partners in Azerbaijan.
