New confectionery factory to appear in Uzbekistan

A major confectionery factory will be opened in Tashkent Uzbekistan in 2018.

The enterprise that will be the largest in Central Asia is expected to squeeze the products of local producers and exports from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, local media outlets say.

A private Uzbek multidisciplinary company, AKFA, will invest $70 million in the project. The capacity of the factory is 76,000 tons per year.

Currently, the construction nears completion.

The factory will be the only one in Uzbekistan, differing for a wide assortment of products - sugary, flour and chocolate confectionery.

The factory will be located on a production area of 35,000 square meters, with 11 production lines. Assortment will include chocolate, chocolate sweets and bars, marmalade and jelly sweets, caramel, cookies, wafers and wafer crackers, marshmallow, etc.
