This week, the number of domains registered in .UZ domain zone increased by 15,000, according to the data of the management of the domain zone.
"Last week alone, the total number of domains registered in the UZ domain zone was just over 36,000, today this number has already made up more than 51,000 active domains, which drastically changes the statistics and generally the dynamics of our domain zone," the report reads.
To date, 14 official domain name registrars operate in the UZ domain zone in Uzbekistan. When registering, the applicant independently chooses a domain name and is responsible for the choice of a domain name and possible violations of the rights of third parties related to the registration and use of the domain name.
The management links the growth of the number of UZ domains with the development of the ICT industry as a whole, which in turn is reflected in the number of sites and services launched in the UZ domain zone.
In mid-November, Uzbekistan was named the most dynamically developing country in the field of ICT according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Uzbekistan took the 95th place in IDI Index 2017. Last year, Uzbekistan was on the 110th place, following the revision the country was ranked the 103rd.
