Turkey reveals number of old cars recycled in country in 2017

A total of 15,000 old cars were recycled in Turkey in 2017, the country’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization said in a message Jan. 8.

A total of 15,000 old cars were recycled in Turkey in 2017, the country’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization said in a message Jan. 8.

As a whole, 67,503 old cars were recycled in Turkey in 2013-2017.

In accordance with the law in Turkey, cars manufactured before 1997 can be recycled in the country, and the recycling is not mandatory.

The government, in order to encourage recycling of old cars, pays their owners a certain amount of money depending on the condition and model of a recycled car.
