The real GDP growth in Uzbekistan in 2018 will be 5.6 percent, according to the updated Global Economic Prospects report of the World Bank (WB).

The WB reports reads that Uzbekistan's economic growth in 2017 was 6.2 percent.

Bank's experts forecast that Uzbekistan's GDP will grow by 5.6 percent in 2018, 6.3 percent in 2019 and 6.5 percent in 2020.

Earlier, the bank forecasted that the growth of Uzbekistan's economy in 2017 will be 7.6 percent, and in 2018 - 7.8 percent and in 2019 - 7.8 percent.

The bank expects the growth of the world economy to stand at three percent in 2017.

The economy of developed countries is expected to grow by 2.2 percent in 2018 (earlier, the forecast was 1.8 percent) and by 1.9 percent – in 2019 (earlier, 0.9 percent). The GDP growth forecast for developing countries is expected to stand at 4.5 percent in 2018, and 4.7 percent – in 2019 and 2020.

Earlier, the UN predicted that the real GDP of Uzbekistan in 2017 will grow by 6.5 percent. According to the UN report, the economy of Uzbekistan will increase by 6.4 percent in 2018 and 6.1 percent- in 2019.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan expects the economic growth rate of 5.5-6 percent in 2018.

According to preliminary data, in the nine months of 2017 the GDP of Uzbekistan amounted to 170.74 trillion soums, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
