In 2017, 42,978 ships with gross tonnage totaling 599.3 million tons passed through Bosphorus strait, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications revealed in its report.
According to the report, 8,832 tankers passed through the strait in 2017.
