In 2017, 44,615 ships with gross tonnage totaling 823.4 million tons passed through Dardanelles strait, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications revealed in its report.
According to the report, 9,478 tankers passed through the strait in 2017.
