Uzbek agricultural companies will be able to get international certification to enter foreign market in a shorter time and with a lower price from now on, Uzbek media reported.

According to the data of the UN Development Program (UNDP), Uzbekistan adopted a state agricultural standard on Good Agricultural Practice complying with requirements of the international GLOBALG.A.P. standard.

GLOBALG.A.P. is an international system of standards ensuring safety of grown agricultural production and compliance of the whole production chain with modern quality and technical requirements.

Acquiring of the GLOBALG.A.P. certificate is a multi-level process requiring presence of certain documentation. The standard includes 218 criterions according to which fruit and vegetable production is certified. Those include regulations on occupational hygiene, environmental care, use of fertilizers and some other.

The GLOBALG.A.P certificate is currently a must have for most companies willing cooperate with potential agricultural production exporters.

The UNDP’s Promotion of Trade Development program is aimed at simplifying conditions for Uzbek production to enter external markets by implementing certification on international standards.
