The Islamic Development Bank will finance the construction of the Atyrau-Astrakhan highway, the press service of the executive body of Atyrau region said in a message.
"The design and estimate documentation of the Atyrau-Astrakhan route with the length of 277 kilometers from the city of Atyrau to the border with the Russian Federation has already been prepared. Kazakhstan’s relevant state bodies have concluded the agreement with the Islamic Development Bank, which plans to finance the project in the near future. The construction of the highway will be implemented under the Nurly Zhol state program of Kazakhstan”, the message said.
The regional executive body of Atyrau region also intends to construct a bypass road with the length of 26 kilometers. The road will connect the Aktobe-Atyrau and Atyrau-Astrakhan routes.
