Azerbaijani AtaBank intends to cover about 80 percent of its customers with its new mobile app AtaNet, said First Deputy Chairman of the Board of AtaBank Etibar Babashli at a press conference May 17.

Babashli noted that during the year the Bank also intends to expand its customer base by 20-25 percent with help of the AtaNet app. Currently, he noted, among the active clients of the Bank there are about 78,000 individuals and 8,000 legal entities. The number of active payment cards is about 24,000.

Babashli noted that, in general, non-cash payments, including payments made through mobile applications are growing in Azerbaijan.

"Today, non-cash payments are actively developing in Azerbaijan. Although the share of cash payments is still high, this does not mean that there are no changes compared to previous years," he said, adding these positive trends have particularly increased recently after changes in the legislation governing non-cash payments.

On May 17, AtaBank introduced an updated version of the mobile application AtaNet, which will allow to carry out all banking procedures through a single application. Special attention was paid to security when developing the new version of the application. AtaNet supports login with fingerprint, one-time passwords (OTP), and Asan Imza electronic signature.
