Kazakh companies plan to enter the Chinese stock exchanges within a large-scale privatization strategy of the country, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting with the representatives of the Chinese business circles.

"We are carrying out large-scale privatization. The assets of mining, metallurgical, transport and other companies are being offered for sale. In the coming years we plan to start the IPO of such large national companies as Kazakhtelecom, Air Astana, Kazmunaigaz, Kazakhstan Railways, Kazpost and etc. We study the demand of foreign investors to determine the most attractive objects for transactions. Undoubtedly, the Asian market in this sense is one of the priority ones," Nazarbayev said.

He added that Kazakh companies plan to enter the stock exchanges of Hong Kong and Shanghai.

“The Shanghai Stock Exchange is already a strategic partner of the Astana International Financial Center, which we plan to open on July 5 this year, and I also invite you to participate in the ceremony of opening of the center," Kazakh president said.
