Retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan increases

The retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan reached 49.33 trillion soums in January-May 2018, which is 2.9 percent higher than in January-May 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan stated.

The share of turnover of large enterprises was 12.5 percent, and the growth rate in comparison with 2017 increased by 23.5 percent.

The retail trade turnover per capita, including turnover of food production enterprises, increased by 0.8 percent and amounted to 1.508 million soums, compared to 1.22 million soums in January-May 2017.

The volume of retail trade turnover of food production enterprises amounted to 1.39 trillion soums, increasing 8.3 percent compared to January-May 2017. The figure accounts for 2.8 percent of the total retail trade turnover.

The retail trade turnover of small business increased by 0.5 percent compared to January-May 2017, with the share of retail sales in the total retail trade turnover being 87.5 percent.

Sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 5.83 trillion soums. The share of this sector in the total volume of trade reached 11.8 percent.

It was earlier reported that the volume of wholesale trade turnover in Uzbekistan amounted to 20.38 trillion soums in January-May 2018, which is 5.7 percent higher compared to the same period in 2017.
