"Yalama" agropark increases acreage several times

Over the past year, the acreage of the "Yalama" Agricultural Park in the Khachmaz region of Azerbaijan has increased three times, "Yalama Agropark" LLC Company told Trend.

"Over the past year, the acreage of the agricultural park has increased three times, production has also been expanded. According to the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, 956 hectares of land from the lands of the State Reserve Fund in one of the villages of Khachmaz region were transferred to the agropark. Thus, the acreage of the agricultural park has grown from 523 to 1479 hectares over the last year," the company noted.

Innovative approaches and the use of modern technologies have helped to achieve high yields. In addition, all the land plots for the next sowing season are ready and sown, said the company.

"Barley is already sown on 400 hectares of the territory, spring barley - on 115 hectares, and the mixed hay forage – on 38 hectares. The crop area of clover together with spring crops amounted to 208 hectares, silage corn-to 327 hectares, and grain corn-to 146 hectares. As an experiment, sugar beet was sown on four hectares of the territory," the representatives of the Company noted.

Further, a livestock complex for 3,000 head of cattle, a large-scale sowing farm with a modern irrigation system, as well as a plant for the production of feed with a capacity of 5 tons per hour were created in the "Yalama" agricultural park at the first stage.

At present, work is underway in 30 districts of the country to create 45 agro-parks with a total value of 1.4 billion manats on the territory of 191,800 hectares.

To date, investments in the amount of 311.8 million manats have been invested in the creation of agricultural parks through state support, including 204.2 million manats spent on measures related to the laying of water, gas, electric communications and roads, measures for land reclamation and other work, and the creation of infrastructure. State preferential loans worth up to 110 million manats have been allocated for the creation of 15 agro-parks with a total value of more than 400 million manats, and investment promotion documents have been issued for 24 projects worth 565.5 million manats in 14 agro-parks.

The work within the first phase has already been completed in the agroparks created in Khachmaz, Shamkir, Jalilabad and Goranboy districts.
