Export contracts for fruit and vegetable products in Uzbekistan can be concluded at prices below those published by UzAgroExport, Uzbek media reported.

The corresponding order came into force on Aug. 1, 2018 on the basis of the president's decree on improving the investment climate in Uzbekistan.

At the same time, the procedure for the customs clearance of fruit and vegetable products without conclusion of an export contract, on the basis of an invoice, at prices not lower than those indicated on the official website of UzAgroExport, is canceled

This order was introduced by a decree of the government in December 2017. The proposal for its cancellation was prepared by the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy and the State Committee for Promotion of Privatized Enterprises and Development of Competition. Previously, entrepreneurs repeatedly complained about the difficulties due to inability to export products below the established prices.

The specialized foreign trade company UzAgroExport, which received a monopoly on supply of fresh fruit and vegetable products to foreign markets, was established in April 2016. Since July 2018, by a presidential decree, the company has been deprived of this right.
