Azerbaijan sees inflow decrease of Turkish citizens looking for jobs

In January-August 2018, the number of Turkish citizens arrived in Azerbaijan through the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) in search of work fell by 83.82 percent compared to the same period in 2017, ISKUR told Trend on Sept. 14.

During the period, 22 Turkish citizens visited Azerbaijan through the Employment Agency, which is 114 people less compared to the same period of 2017.

In August 2018, no person arrived in Azerbaijan via ISKUR.

In August 2018, via ISKUR, a total of 1,583 Turkish citizens went abroad searching for work.

According to the agency, in January-August 2018, 14,531 Turkish citizens left the country via ISKUR, which is 14.36 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

In August 2018, 92,824 Turkish citizens were provided with work in Turkey, which is 6.4 percent more compared to the same month 2017.

Among the jobs provided in August 2018, 99.4 percent accounted for the private sector.

During the first eight months of 2018, the number of Turkish citizens provided with jobs amounted to 762,933 people, of whom 66 percent are men and 34 are women.

A total of 2.751 million people were registered as unemployed in Turkey in August 2018. Fifty-two percent of them are women and 48 percent are men.
