The Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan expects a decrease in air ticket prices in 2019, Kazakh media reported.
The Vice-Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Timur Toktabayev said the ministry is carrying out appropriate work in this area.
"We have approved the rules of transportation of passengers, providing for benefits for children, pensioners, disabled people, youth. They are being applied now. However, the question of cost, which is not declining at the rate we would prefer, still remains. Currently, together with the Ministry of Energy, work is underway to provide our aircraft fleet with our own aviation kerosene. It is planned to almost fully provide the aircraft fleet with domestic aviation kerosene next year. Also, the number of regular flights of the airline is growing. All these contribute to the fact that the cost of air tickets will decrease," said the official.
Toktabayev noted that the cost of air tickets includes contributions from several indicators, the main of which is the cost of aviation fuel.
