Russia's Udmurtia wants to manufacture drones with Azerbaijan (Exclusive)

The Udmurt Republic of the Russian Federation proposes to set up joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Azerbaijan, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Svinin told Trend.

He noted that in addition to joint production, Udmurtia is also ready to supply drones to the Caspian country.

Today, there are 13 manufacturers of UAVs in the Udmurt Republic. This year, another company will start production of drones. Udmurtia accounts for about 2 percent of the total production of drones in the world.

At the same time, Svinin said, Udmurtia is interested in supplying to Azerbaijan or producing together the products for oil and gas industry, food products, furniture and IT equipment.

In general, he pointed to a very high interest of Udmurt entrepreneurs to work in Azerbaijan.

"Last year, we selected five priority countries for cooperation. Azerbaijan is among those countries," he said.

Svinin also noted that Udmurtia is already supplying to Azerbaijan the products of automotive, agricultural, wood industry and furniture.
