John Deere offers Turkmenistan new supplies of agricultural machinery

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to New York, has received the President, Agricultural Division – Europe, Africa, South America and Global Harvesting Equipment Sourcing, Crop Care and Hay & Forage Platforms for Deere & Company corporation, Mark Von Pentz, the local TV channel "Altyn Asyr" reported.

John Deere corporation has been cooperating with Turkmenistan for 25 years.

Mark Von Pentz noted the company's interest in further strengthening of the partnership.

Pentz made a number of proposals to expand cooperation, including through the supply of new types of grain harvesters and cotton harvesters, tractors, as well as various agricultural equipment.

Pentz said the new models have been developed taking into account the peculiarities of climate, soils of different regions of Turkmenistan and the cultivated crops. In particular, among the new developments, there are the automated systems for collecting soil samples, allowing to monitor with high accuracy the condition of arable land, the special sensors to monitor the condition of crops.

"The development of capacity of the agricultural sector, the technical and technological re-equipment of agriculture on the basis of the best international practices are the important aspects of the economic strategy of Turkmenistan," the head of state said.

It has been planned to produce this year 1.6 million tons of grain and 1.050 million tons of cotton in Turkmenistan. About 760,000 hectares of land are traditionally allocated for grain, 545,000 hectares - for cotton.
