Azerbaijan, Russia to build sanatoriums in North Caucasus

Russia and Azerbaijan are working on a joint project to build a SPA complex in the North Caucasus region, the Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus Olga Rukhullayeva told Trend.

The deputy minister said at the moment the joint project is being worked out in the resorts of Kislovodsk and Zheleznovodsk.

"In Zheleznovodsk, the project has moved into an active stage of preparation. The plot of land for the construction project has been defined, the documents for the construction of the sanatorium with a capacity for 400 beds are being prepared. The deadline for commissioning the facility has been scheduled for 2020. At the same time, the Russian side has provided the land plot where it is possible to develop business on partnership terms."

"An investor from Azerbaijan, in turn, has expressed readiness to implement the Istochnik Sanatorium investment project," Rukhullayeva said.

The deputy minister said another project to establish a modern sanatorium and health resort complex is planned to be implemented in Kislovodsk at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.

"In April 2017, an agreement of intent was signed with the Azerbaijani side on the reconstruction of the Akademicheskiy Sanatorium, which is owned by the state. The facility is situated on a plot of land of 4.9 hectares in two minutes of walk from the Kislovodsk National Park."

It has been planned to provide tax incentives to the investor for implementation of this project, the deputy minister said.
