Director General of Amirabad Ports and Maritime Organization and Special Economic Zone Siavash Rezvani said Iran exported 280,000 tons of non-oil commodities through the ports of Baku, Astrakhan, Aktau, Turkmenbashi, and Makhachkala in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started on Mach 21).
Over 1.2 million tons of goods, including gasoil and fertilizers were exported in the first six months of this year, marking a 32 percent growth compared to the same period last year, Rezvani told IRNA on October 7.
He added that 280,000 tons of goods were exported to the Caspian Sea littoral states through the ports of the ports of Baku, Astrakhan, Aktau, Turkmenbashi, and Makhachkala.
The exports via the ports witnessed a 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
Amirabad is currently the largest port facility on the Caspian shore and the third largest port in Iran. The 1,000-hectare port currently has nine berths, which can accommodate Ro-Ro vessels, trains and trucks.
