Uzbek commercial bank, EBRD ink deal on participation in risks worth $15M

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Uzbek Joint-Stock Commercial Bank Hamkorbank have signed a framework agreement on participation in risks funded by risk sharing mechanisms, and a framework agreement on unfunded participation in risks totaling $15 million, the Uzbek bank announced on Oct. 10.

The agreements were signed on Oct. 9 in the framework of the meeting between the management of Hamkorbank with the EBRD delegation headed by Nadia Petkova, head of the EBRD program for development and financing of small and medium-sized businesses.

The delegation also included head of the regional office of the EBRD Nodir Mansurov and the leading bankers of the regional office Muzaffar Khakimov and Sherzod Akbarov.

The EBRD and Hamkorbank have been cooperating for 16 years already. Over the years of fruitful cooperation, the EBRD has repeatedly recognized the Uzbek bank as a leading and active partner in Uzbekistan.
