Kazakhstan's grain harvest wraps up

As much as 21.735 million tons of grain were harvested in Kazakhstan as of October 15, Kazakh media reported referring to the Agriculture Ministry.

As at the reporting date, agricultural producers harvested 14.862 million hectares of land, which is 98.7 percent of the total harvesting area of Kazakh regions. The average yield was 14.6 centners per hectare.

In the same period of 2017, as much as 21.838 million tons of grain was harvested from 15.316 million hectares, which was 99.7 percent of the total harvesting area. The average yield was 14.3 centners per hectare.

It is worth noting that this year the harvesting area in Kazakhstan totals 15.063 million hectares, while it was 15.365 million hectares last year.

During the sowing campaign this year, the territory of 15.123 million hectares was sown, while it was 15.412 million hectares in 2017.
