The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Jizzakh region, Ulugbek Egamov, has visited Russia’s Krasnodar region, Podrobno.uz reported.
During the visit, the representatives of Kuban enterprises managed to agree with the Uzbek companies on the supply of their products.
The Vice-Governor of the region Sergey Boldin noted that the Jizzakh region was the first region of Uzbekistan to send a delegation to the Krasnodar region.
"I am convinced that thanks to the upcoming forum of interregional cooperation and exchange of visits, the areas of interaction will be further expanded and, as a result, the indicators of foreign trade will increase. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Krasnodar is still small - in 2017 it amounted to $54 million, but this figure is growing," the vice-governor of Kuban said.
The experience of Uzbekistan in the development of the textile industry is particularly interesting for the Krasnodar region.
Before the meeting, the Uzbek delegation, which included representatives of the business circles, visited the textile enterprises and fruit-and-vegetable wholesale bases in Krasnodar region, and the Korenovsky milk-canning plant.
Also during the visit, the guests met with the leadership of the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"The Kuban enterprises managed not only to establish the first bilateral contacts, but also to agree on further long-term partnership relations with Uzbek companies, and to agree as much as on the supply of products with some of Uzbek companies," the press service of the Krasnodar regional administration said.
The first forum of interregional cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan will be held on October 19 in Tashkent.
