The volume of deposits in banks of Kazakhstan for the first eight months of this year increased by 1 percent to 17.7 trillion tenge, Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev said at a meeting of the government, according to Kazakh media.
"The growth of deposits in the national currency amounted to 4.1 percent or 380 billion tenge," he said.
However, foreign currency deposits decreased by 2.5 percent or 210 billion tenge, and as a result the dollarization of deposits decreased to 46 percent.
