Total capital of Uzbek banks increase by half

Assets of commercial banks of Uzbekistan increased by 25.5 percent and amounted to 202.31 trillion soums in January-September 2018, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in a report.

Credit investments of Uzbek banks increased by 44.2 percent and amounted to 151.31 trillion soums.

Volume of attracted deposits exceeded 67.35 trillion soums, which is 15.4 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

Total capital of the commercial banks of Uzbekistan as of Oct. 1, 2018 reached 25.05 trillion soums, which is 55.5 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (54.18 trillion soums or 26.8 percent of all assets of the banking sector of Uzbekistan), Asaka Bank (28.69 trillion soums or 14.2 percent) and O’zsanoatqurilishbank (28.65 trillion soums or 14.2 percent) have become leaders in terms of assets.

The three leaders in terms of capital are also the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.5 trillion soums or 22 percent of total capital), Asaka Bank (3.13 trillion soums or 12.5 percent) and O’zsanoatqurilishbank (2.27 trillion soums or 9.1 percent).
