Uzbekistan Airways Technics (a structural unit of the Uzbekistan Airways) is preparing reforms, which may end up with the enterprise becoming financially independent from the parent company, Uzbek media reported.
At the first stage, the UAT will move to cost accounting and self-reevaluation, i.e. the supervision over the financial activities of the enterprise will decrease.
“If the central office used to manage all revenues and expenses, now it practically lets us go free. Control, of course, will remain, but there will be no financial supervision. This will give us more flexibility in making decisions, since it will not be necessary to coordinate expenses with third parties," Oleg Volokitin, the deputy general manager of the UAT maintenance center, said.
Over the next three years, the company plans to build a hangar for maintenance of Boeing 787 aircraft.
