Uzbekistan has removed restrictions on the cost of a new building apartment, the purchase of which will grant a residence permit in Tashkent and the metropolitan area, Uzbek media referring to the government decree.
In the mid-2017, a new regulation was introduced, according to which citizens of Uzbekistan and foreigners were able to permanently register in Tashkent and the metropolitan region, provided that they purchase apartment in the new building. At the same time, a condition on the minimum amount of the purchase was introduced.
According to the new decree, restrictions on the amount of the purchase have been completely removed for the citizens of Uzbekistan. The cost of the deal can be as small as one soum.
Foreigners will have to pay more than before - 3,300 minimum wages (608.19 million soums or $73,934).
The adopted document did not permit the purchase of an apartment without a residence permit in the secondary market though. The procedure for payments for housing through bank accounts has also been preserved.
