Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Albert Jaeger, a senior economist of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department, UzDaily reported.
The results of large-scale reforms aimed at solving the most pressing economic and social problems, the budget implementation in the second half of 2018, the parameters of forecast on incomes and expenditures for 2019 were discussed during the meeting.
As it was noted, the country's macroeconomic policy is consistent with the inflation rates projected for the period of 2019-2020.
During the discussions, special attention was paid to prospects of development of economic situation, tax reforms, and reorganization of state enterprises.
The IMF mission positively assessed the reforms implemented by the government of Uzbekistan in order to develop and increase productivity in such areas as services and telecommunications.
At the same time, the mission considers it necessary to further improve the efficiency of the agricultural and production sectors, which is very important for the creation of new jobs.
