Iran has the potential of producing 2.2 million tons of chicken meat per year and it is possible to bring it to 3 million tons, said Chief of Iranian Broiler Chicken Association Mohammad Youssefi, ILNA reported.
He said that the ban on the chicken exports has been recently lifted in Iran, and it is possible to export additional production volumes. However, the main challenge is the feeding of poultry, he added.
This issue has become a major problem, he said.
Another big problem is the increase in transportation costs, he noted. These costs vary depending on the distance of the Iranian provinces, he said.
