Kazakhstan's Pavlodar region exports goods to almost 40 countries

Products of Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan are exported to almost 40 countries, governor of the region Bulat Bakauov told Kazakh media.

"Our main products are ores and copper concentrates, alumina, raw aluminum, ferroalloys, aluminum wire, pipes, coal, electricity, wheat and cereals," he said.

He also noted that in the first 8 months of this year the export turnover of the region increased almost twice and amounted to $2.1 billion. Moreover, Pavlodar is one of the three regions leading in the exports of Kazakhstan to the EEU countries.

Bakauov added that in terms of non-oil exports the region ranks second in the country after the Karaganda region. Since the beginning of the year, the non-oil exports have increased 2.5 times.

"In addition, almost 60 percent (22 billion kWh) of all electricity produced in Pavlodar is exported to other regions of Kazakhstan," the governor noted.

Exports to the regions of Kazakhstan totaled 18.25 billion kWh, and exports to Russia - 3.75 billion kWh.

"Since the beginning of the year, 38 billion kWh of electricity has been produced by power stations of the region, which is 11.4 percent higher than last year," Bakauov added.
