Uzbekistan's banking sector heavyweights revealed

In January-October 2018, the assets of commercial banks of Uzbekistan grew by 28 percent and amounted to 204.39 trillion soums, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

Credit investments of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 48.9 percent and amounted to 155.86 trillion soums.

The volume of attracted deposits exceeded 69.3 trillion soums, which is 19.7 percent higher compared to the same period in 2017.

As of Nov. 1, 2018, the total capital of the commercial banks of Uzbekistan reached 25.63 trillion soums, which is 42.9 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.

National Bank of Uzbekistan (55.32 trillion soums or 27.2 percent of all assets of the banking sector of Uzbekistan), Asaka Bank (28.9 trillion soums or 14.1 percent) and O'zsanoatqurilishbank (28.76 trillion soums or 14.1 percent) became leaders in terms of assets.

The Top-3 in terms of capital also included the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.65 trillion soums or 22 percent of the total capital), Asaka Bank (3.08 trillion soums or 12 percent) and O'zsanoatqurilishbank (2.59 trillion soums or 10.1 percent).
