Consumer goods account for over third of Uzbekistan's industrial sector

In January-November 2018, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial goods worth 198.8 trillion soums, which is 12 percent more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports on Dec. 13 referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The main factor behind the growth in total industrial production was the increasing output in the manufacturing industry by 10 percent, in mining and quarrying by 26.8 percent, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 3.4 percent, in water supply, sewage, waste collection and disposal by 20.5 percent.

Growth rate of consumer goods production reached 11.9 percent.

At the same time, the share of consumer goods in the total industrial production amounted to 38.1 percent.

In the total industrial production, small businesses accounted for a 34.9 percent share.
