Indian spice producer to process pepper in Uzbekistan

Indian company Synthite Industries Ltd. intends to organize pepper processing worth $4 million in Uzbekistan, Trend reports on Dec. 19 referring to the State Investment Committee of Uzbekistan.

The Indian company and O'zbekoziqovqatxolding are working on a joint project for the cultivation and processing of pepper. Pepper is selected as an experimental crop for this project.

Synthite Industries Ltd. is India's largest producer and exporter of spices and essential oils. The company has more than 40 years of experience in the global market. The company's turnover in 2017 was over $250 million.

During business negotiations with Shamil Burnashev, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Investments, the head of the Synthite Industries delegation stressed that the Indian company is interested in the offer of the Uzbek partners, and by the beginning of 2019 they plan to complete marketing research and start growing the first experimental samples within a year.

In turn, Burnashev noted that the government of Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of agriculture, including crop diversity, introducing advanced innovative and resource-saving technologies, and India’s experience in this area is interesting for the country.
