Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan expanding business partnership

The presidents of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov discussed the prospects for cooperation on the phone, Trend reports via "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper.

During the conversation, the sides emphasized that regular contacts at the highest and intergovernmental levels serve as an effective mechanism for interaction, its expansion, taking into account the priority national and regional tasks and potentials of the two countries.

Noting the role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, the presidents placed particular emphasis on the importance of business meetings that promote the establishment and increase of productivity of contacts, including between business circles that largely determine the diversification of mutual trade, "Neutral Turkmenistan" reported.

The sides also exchanged views on topical regional and international issues of mutual interest, according to the report.

It was earlier reported that Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are discussing the prospects for cooperation in creating processing enterprises. The parties agreed to support the creation of joint ventures aimed at the markets of the EU, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China.

Kyrgyzstan, looking for opportunities to increase trade, is also negotiating with the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is ready to consider the possibility of joint mining and processing of minerals in Kyrgyzstan. The countries discuss the prospects of partnership in industry and transport, as well.
