Mining, quarrying production in Kazakhstan up by almost 7%

Mining and quarrying production in Kazakhstan in January 2019 increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

According to the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry, processing production decreased by 5 percent, while production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning increased by 0.1 percent. In water supply, sewerage and waste collection, production increased by 14.4 percent. In general, industrial production in the country in January 2019 went up by 1.9 percent year-on-year

Сompared to January 2018, production of crude oil, natural gas and metal ores, as well as of food, beverages, chemical products, rubber and plastic products, mechanical engineering and oil refining increased in January this year. At the same time, tobacco and ferrous metallurgy production decreased.

In particular, production of oil, including gas condensate, in January 2019 amounted to 8 million tons (5.3 percent up year-on-year), and of copper ores – to 8.2 million tons (11.6 percent up).

Production of gasoline amounted to 0.4 million tons (30.9 percent up), gas oil – 0.4 million tons (9.4 percent up), flat rolled products – 0.1 million tons (72.3 percent down), refined copper – 0.04 million tons (2.8 percent up), Portland cement – 0.3 million tons (1 percent up), electricity – 9.9 billion kWh (4.1 percent down), and flour – 0.3 million tons (3.4 percent down).
