Uzbekistan, Russia agricultural products trade grows by over 20%

During the working visit to Russia, the delegation headed by Uzbek Minister of Agriculture Zhamshid Khodzhayev met with the head of Russian Ministry of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

Trade in agricultural products and food between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by more than 20 percent in 2018, Dmitry Patrushev said.

Both sides noted with satisfaction the growing dynamics of cooperation between the countries. In addition to measures aimed at increasing the volume of trade, the parties expressed their willingness to exchange practices between the relevant departments in such areas as plant breeding and fish, scientific and technological development, digitization of agriculture and others.

As a result, the parties outlined plans to increase cooperation between the departments of Uzbekistan and Russia, in particular, within the framework of the Uzbek-Russian working group on agriculture.
